FTDI FT232 - John77 - 2013-09-23 Hi All, I have a 18F2331 with a FTDI FT232R USB to a Serial IC. Currently, I am using the INTOSC at 8 MHz. Are there any known issues with this set up? I managed to get the boot loader to work, but not self reset using RTS. I did a search, but didn't find anything Regards John RE: FTDI FT232 - Mikael Gustavsson - 2013-09-23 Hi, Please link to the FTDI datasheet and post the relevant schematics. Thanks Mikael RE: FTDI FT232 - John77 - 2013-09-23 (2013-09-23, 21:39:41)Mikael Gustavsson Wrote: Hi, Hi Mikael, thanks for the swift reply. FT232 link below. http://www.ftdichip.com/Support/Documents/DataSheets/Modules/DS_UM232R.pdf I have a 4K7 pull-up on the MCLR, and a 2N3904 in open-collector configuration, with the base connected to the FT232 RTS pin, via a 1K resistor. Sorry I can't send a schematic at the moment, I'm replying from my ipad. Regards RE: FTDI FT232 - Mikael Gustavsson - 2013-09-26 There is a working schematic sample on page 21 in the main manual: http://ds30loader.com/documentation/ds30_loader_-_main_manual.pdf Is your setup something similar? If you have a scope, take a look at the mclr pin while resetting. Have you enabled reset by rts in ds30 Loader GUI? BR RE: FTDI FT232 - Mikael Gustavsson - 2014-04-30 Start a new thread. |
