OverWriting Old Boot Loader [solved]
#1
Hi,
What is the process to overwrite the old bootloader with the new one using the GUI.

I am stuck with an old bootloader and have no access to the programmer, it will be great if you could tell me of the method.

Hi,
May I ask why you need to update the boot loader?
See the main manual:

See the main manual:

when I am bootloading the firmware using GUI, one of my relay chatters as the PIN controlling it is floating.

I want to make this pin output and set it low in the user code part of the bootloader, so that during the bootloader process it does not toggle the relay.

Problem is I can not get to the PIC Programming pins now, and updating the Bootloader using GUI seems to be the only option.

Ok, thanks for explanation. Be extra careful if the current boot loader doesn't have protection against overwriting itself.

Hi,
Thanks for the reply. I tried to bootload the modified bootloader hex file, I selected ¨Allow overwrite of the boot loader¨. But Now Write Flash option is disabled.

Any Idea?
